We are the three swaddled ones
trying to learn the walls of our new cocoon.
Raising up fists to feel the limits
of our own imaginations.
Where others see barriers,
we know there is more
beyond our chrysalis;
The gestation of a family.
We compliment each other
in our utero.
We heal each other
through words and song.
Understanding moments,
patient practice, and
natural nutrients:
Blessed be the verge of flight.
Happy Mother’s Day friends near and far. This is a poem I wrote in the days following my daughter’s birth as we were learning how to be a family.
This imaginative little poem is a beautiful celebration of the joy of being. Thank you for sharing!
