Needle skates a black lake of lines,
a sleeveless glide with metal tip precision,
my inaugural lap’s all pop and sizzle.
Dizzy from the depth of each gyration,
crisp combinations end in a scratch spin,
a standing ovation, a warbling win.

A new favorite 45.
Photo is my current stash. I have an old record player that will play a nice stack. The best.
It’s great that you appreciate the old stuff, 1975 was a great year!

the opening lines bring back memories: I still remember my first ’45: ‘Endless Sleep’ by Jody Reynolds 🙂

ooh, I will have to play that one. I wouldn’t mind a bit of endless sleep here. Wonder what that feels like.

Thank you. Love the warm open sound of a record. A bit like being at an acoustic concert.

That’s exactly it. The sound is so comforting. Happy weekend, K.

Thank you, Judy. Yes, it is quite fun around her to play records during chores, cooking, and board gaming.

Ha! True. I was lying down writing this, though I did sit up to sip…wine that is.

We still play some vinyl. (Although husband does not approve of stacking!). Love that first line in particular. .

Thank you. I know, it’s not good for them. But, then I can listen in for longer. Love the random stack. Great to have a new vinyl friend. Record shopping is a sport for me and my partner.

It still blows my mind how a metal needle dancing round a groove in a piece of black plastic turns into music. I love my old juke box! 😂
