I quite like hosting Petite Pen on Wednesday, right in the midst of the mid-week slump. And if you’re feeling the decay, please join me in penning some brevity, 30 words or less, to this print or your choice of print by Zdzisław Beksiński. Warning: His gallery is a place of inspiration, but sensitive viewers may chose not to visit there. As always feel free to share your brevity in a comment below, and if you post it to your beautiful blog, please ping it back here for all to enjoy.
Happy Wednesday!
Whose Bones are Those?
Whose bones are those?
Difficult to say
as we decompose.
Ankles as knees,
triangular truth.
Hands in prayer,
a skillful mule
driven underground
by a deathbed sea.
All is shrouded
by nature’s cruelty.

Thank you, Tom. The image inspired it, and I think I’ll return to this artist’s well for more inspirations. 😊

Check out artist Mariusz Lewandowski, he did the album art for a band I like and a bunch of others, heavily inspired by Beksinski.

A life lived
in luxurious lament, labeled
by people’s ideas
of dread
a fascinating quatrain, insipid
and inspiring
leaving me bereft
and wondering
where hope was left

Saturday has come, and a visit to your site, and your poetry always fills me with inspiration, and joy. Happy weekend, K. 💜

Hope, aren’t we lucky it was at the bottom of Pandora’s box. This piece reminds me of that constant. Thank you so much for dropping by and writing alongside me. I am the lucky one to have you as a patron. 💜Cheers to a worry-free weekend.

This reminded me a bit of the graveyard scene in Hamlet. Nicely penned.
