Presents without Bows

Viggo Johansen (1851–1935), Christmas Eve (Study) (1891)

This year it’s recycled paper

Real silverware

The familiar warmth of all I know

A present doesn’t need a bow

This year it’s frozen sleet

Real mistletoe

A game of uno attack

A round of hot cocoa

These sorts of presents don’t need bows

We decked the halls

With last year’s wreath

A tree with lots of love beneath

Everyone’s favorite Christmas casserole

The best presents don’t come with bows

Curled up with a mystery book

A walk through still winter woods

The luxury of a couple days repose

The best presents don’t require bows

    • Merry Christmas Eve, Tom. Holiday excitement is more contagious than any virus. We have our Christmas cookies for Santa and are ready for cuddles, carols, and candlelight. 💜🎄wishing you the same. 🍷
