“The Picnic” Auguste Serrure, 1883

Just one creamy morning kiss,
one evergreen afternoon,
a slice of honeydew.
Our marriage is cheese and wine;
love’s good-humored fondue.

Million years to reminisce
this cogent cordon bleu;
savor what is mine.
And if it don’t work out,
spend a lifetime missing you.

    1. Thank you, Laura. I think it’s just that I can’t tell my muse no, so when she makes a connection, I say okay, let’s go with that. 😁
