Macaroon Delight

A fresh tray of

meringue cookie clouds

appear on a parchment

paper sky.

Cream of tartar temperatures

whisk the day by.

Frothy sugar,

Glossy egg white waves,

Stiff peaks in

fresh supply.

Super fine sugary sands

light, crispy, dry,

just right;

macaroon delight.

  1. I just love that song! It brings back such wonderful memories of lake life, sailboating, swimming, and all of the family gathering at the lake for a weekend of pure fun! this was from 1970 to 1976.❤️

    1. Lovely, John. Yes, well there may have been some tequila involved in my inspiration that macaroon delight was a brilliant parody, but in morning reflection, I still think it’s super fun.

      1. Thank you, Joni. The beach is so ever-changing but the sound of the waves crashing and and the pull and push feel constant. It was nice to just let inspiration strike. I’ve really enjoyed the ocean and being with my family.

    1. Thank you. Yes, it’s a ritual of sorts to spend this time with my sisters and our family. I feel blessed to just “be” this week with each of them and catch up on life, making new memories.💜

    1. Yes, my daughter is also a fan. Reminds me I should record her sometime. When the idea hit me it was much later than the original, and I said no, don’t go there, but then I did. 💜
