Asleep on my watch
Camouflage waters
Conceal peeling waves
Army green mesh
Militaristic surf
Corporal winds inspect the turf
The sea brigade, which lies in wait
Its widest net all set
To catch the unsuspecting sunset
Whether it advances
By land or sea,
There’s power in a reverie.
My ocean view infantry.

Thank you, Tom. I did catch a seaside nap today, and woke to the braking camouflage waves.

there is indeed ‘power in a reverie’; I admire this extended militaristic metaphor; poetry students could learn much from this 🙂

Thank you, John. Penned this right after waking up from an oceanside snooze. I highly recommend them and do hope I sneak a few more in before the end of the week\.

What a cleaver piece woven with military language throughout. Nicely done and you are right there is something so special about a bit of a snooze on the beach. Lovely work. xoxoxo
