Clouds blew their brains out

overhead and drifted apart.

I cried for my part

in killing something beautiful.

Another beach day,

the lost criminal art.

I never believed in airy

penalties or sand castle pity,

personal truths or the

shameful rip tides

true love desires.

Sunbeams squeeze out,

lemon drops,

too sour to inspire.

    1. Thank you, Marion. The initial line was the the inspiration, and I just let the line out on this one to see what other weird ideas it might hook.

    1. The sunset can be so dramatic. That end of day trauma is all fictional, anyway.
