NaPoWriMo#24 invites us to visit the world of noir by asking us to create a larger-than-life simile. This tasty treat arrived during my daughter’s soccer game. Hope you find it swell.

Caramel close of day
all syrupy and wet.
Wish I could skip this beat
and not keep tracking
the dame with apple slice lips,
ones I’d love to dip
in today’s sunset,
but, ones attached to the
most wanted suspect
on my dance card.
Her ex-squeeze
gave me the dope
on this Dish:
Every Sunday, she
walks Waldorf street
on her way to visit
her dear, sick Auntie.
I’d only get one bite at her,
so I glance, a quick ID,
then give her the pinch.
Too bad there’s a tussle
but you know what they say:
tarter the apple,
tastier the cider.

Oh my, it’s sensual, swell, and there is creepiness too. 😅 “apple slice lips” Amazing imagery, K. 🍎💜

Thank you. That apple image came first, and the rest was a bit of me fumbling around trying to make noir happen. I’m so grateful for your feedback. 💜

A very alluring and vivid portrayal here, K! ❤ Beautifully interwoven with flashes of unease; are his intentions as pure as her generosity, one wonders? 😉

Thank you. 💜 I’d say he’s into her appeal but not sure if he waves a bushel or a peck. 🍎

Very comic book film noir 🙂 Really like the first stanza especially. Great accompanying image too.

Many thanks. This style is so cool, but not something I’m particularly used to. Thanks for reading it and leaving me such a kind comment.
