Draw a box, hopscotch, tippy toes, count and hop. This spring, my son’s Titanic sinks in the concrete sea. Impressionistic flowers, daughter’s rainbow fingers arch with belief. I raise my eyes from the page watch them pick their next piece, stories written in chalk.

I’ve seen some very beautiful art done with chalk, especially sidewalk art. I like your son’s art! ☺️
KK, this is lovely! I suggest that you re-post this at d’Verse because the link seems to not be working… I had to come searching for this post! (and I’m glad I did!)
Thank you, David. So nice of you to come hunting for my post. Chalk it up to exhaustion, but it’s okay. Life goes on and I enjoyed all the chalky poetry. 💜.

Thank you, Tom. 44 words to try and capture the endless imaginings of chalk pictures. I was glad to find a few minutes to pen this. 😊

Drawing with chalk never seems to be out of fashion – your poem brings back memories. Lovely stuff.

Thank you kindly, Marion. I like the psychology of seeing what my kids create. And, also the memories it brings back.

Beautiful, loving, and whimsical, K. FYI your link at Mr. Linky isn’t working. I came to your blog to find this.

Oh, thank you, Lisa. I wondered if I’d linked it wrong, as I didn’t see the usual kind faces. It has indeed been a busy month.
