Stories Written In Chalk

Draw a box,
hopscotch,
tippy toes,
count and hop.
This spring,
my son’s Titanic sinks
in the concrete sea.
Impressionistic flowers,
daughter’s rainbow fingers
arch with belief.
I raise my eyes from the page
watch them pick their next piece,
stories written in chalk.

    • Thank you, David. So nice of you to come hunting for my post. Chalk it up to exhaustion, but it’s okay. Life goes on and I enjoyed all the chalky poetry. 💜.
