I am honored to share with all of your that my poem, ‘The Light in Your Eyes,’ was published today on MasticadoresUSA.
I wrote this poem six years ago, at a time when I was drowning in my own life. I felt like I had been washed out to sea, and as hard as I could swim, it felt like I would never reach the shore again. I was lucky to find a person to be my lighthouse. Just that little ray of light kept me going, and so I hope this poem will also serve as a beacon of hope.
A huge thank you toΒ Gabriela Marie Milton for selecting my work for publication. I would be honored if you would visit here to read my poem.

The Light In Your Eyes
The light in your eyes is always on.
I look for it now,
my lighthouse,
steering me safely
through
sleepless seas
of turbulent thoughts,
keeping me far
from a jagged shore
of biting remarks,
a sheer awe-struck cliff
of confusion.

Thank you, Tom. Yes, agreed. A lot of it is not giving up on a piece. This poem was the sort that wanted a larger audience from day one and was not going to stop until I gave it one. π.

it’s a lovely poem, K; comparing love to a lighthouse; I’m going to be a little bold here to say the first stanza to me is a complete poem.I didn’t want any further explication —
