The thick purple peel of clouds reveal a startling green horizon, a day that dared to sweat. The fields all farmed, fat off the vine, a drip of wet. This sunset carries weight, a bitter taste, of things we know to be true, but would love to forget: an aubergine sunset.

You’ve managed to write a lovely and original poem about a subject that I thought had been fully covered. Love it. Even the title is perfect at drawing one in.
Thank you. These are such wonderful comments. I truly appreciate them. I find sunrises and sunsets to be endless in their inspirations. Just takes having the time to ponder these things.
Thank you. Teaching in the evenings, I’m fortunate to take in these spectacular sunsets. They really have so much to say about so many things. I appreciate your kind comments, friend.
Thank you kindly, Tom. I found it on my way to teach evening classes, and well, like so many beautiful things, it does have a bit of melancholy in it. Cheers.
Beautiful!!
