Winter Passing

The white release
of a warm winter fleece,
stitched across the
face of the fragile earth,
frozen stiff,
tucked beneath the sheet.
Laid to rest in
peace beneath
a body bag of
snow.

    1. Thank you kindly, John. I penned this in 2020, right when the death counts were hitting us for the first time. Still, it seems to hold truth, these winters of mass passings, or these winters that pass so slowly and filled with so much grief.
