The white release
of a warm winter fleece,
stitched across the
face of the fragile earth,
frozen stiff,
tucked beneath the sheet.
Laid to rest in
peace beneath
a body bag of
snow.

Thank you, kindly. I’m new to blogging, so I fear I have a lot to learn about organising posts, and making the site look how I envision it in my mind. Baby steps….

I like the brevity of this, the domesticity of that first image and then the startling ‘body bag of snow’

Thank you kindly, John. I penned this in 2020, right when the death counts were hitting us for the first time. Still, it seems to hold truth, these winters of mass passings, or these winters that pass so slowly and filled with so much grief.

2020 seems such a long time ago now; the pandemic has been with us this long; ‘body bags’ is a potent encapsulating image —

Thank you. Agreed It seems like 2020 is one of those years of which there is no back to before, only through.

Awesome rhyme, and ending, K. Appreciate the video too. I had no idea Eminem was still creating new music. 🎶

It’s from 2020; but yes, think he is, and still mastering his own version of rhymes. I’m blown away by the ending. Thank you so much for reading and commenting , Jeff.

Thank you kindly, Tom. It’s been a dreadfully frozen, drawn-out week here, and so I was remembering these lines.
