Bastille dropped a new album this week, all about the future, which as you all know is a favorite topic of mine, so be sure to give this week’s new music a listen.
Bastille‘s new track asks that we all step away from our screens and online escapism to join what is unfolding around us. “Shut off the light, you don’t need them to dance,” frontman Dan Smith sings.
The song appears 8th on Bastille’s new double album, Give Me The Future, which is a series of futuristic songs so amazing I featured the LP twice on this week’s new music playlist. The album is a call to rediscover the joys of real-life surrounded by loved ones. The alt-pop songs feature catchy beats, embracing 80’s influences with a big band grandiosity in the chorus lines.

Yes, it does seem this way. Why is that, you think? Thanks for connecting with this music, John.
