Once upon a blind date
the year’d grown old,
gilded flakes fell and
twinkling bug-catcher
parking lights unveiled
piles of leaf disbelief,
hoarder’s tendencies.
No one told us not to–
One, two, three
swallow.
Happiness is hollow.
Crappily ever after,
a sorta fairytale disaster.

  10. Clever wordplay. Some people seem to live more of those crappily ever after lives than others.

  14. A blind date is too often a recipe for disaster… especially if a promising start turns out to be more manure than a man.
