The final glass of a reserve wine
abandoned on the chef’s table.
Chestnuts scored in seasoned iron pans
never to feel the open flame.

Long robes like meditations
encircling men who’ve left behind lust
and mastered control.
Nothing can boost adrenaline,
raise blood pressure,
faster than burgundy crowned foes.
So we’ve all made a sensible
color decision;
we’ve all self-marooned.
