Crystal sea of glass;
throne of the creator is
an eagle in flight.
He sees from greater heights. A span of centuries supported on strong legs. The ultra-violet lighthouse of flesh, calling out to be shred by a keratin katana of a beak. He is the hungry hunter amidst scampering strays. Find him a loyal mate, if you aren’t suitable for prey. So mount up with wings of an eagle and streak the day.

Artwork entitled Living Creature 4 by Nalu Buff
and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.
Revelations 4:5-7
blazing imagery; stunning — and what great artwork !

Thank you, John. I enjoy art, and it seems the right piece finds me. This one as a search for the 4th creature. Whew, I think I might be done with writing for the evening. 😉

A clever take on the prompt, for sure. Your profile of the eagle is energetic and realistic. Your overview from biblical tomes is interesting.

Thank you kindly, Glenn. My mind went straight to the biblical, but I wanted to try and discover why the eagle would have this destiny.

“find him a loyal mate” Yep. The eagle usually mates for life!

Such a powerful creature, comforted by a life-long mate. After reading a bit about them, I’m in awe.

Thank you. I was searching for a weapon that resembled that amazing beak and then I spotted a yellow katana on my search. There it was.

I love the image of the eagle… somehow as much a myth as a magnificent bird
