Do you remember
being tied to your bed
the wires from the ceiling
forcing you fed?
Do you remember
the cruel things they said
like they’re sure you’ll be back
unless you’re found dead?
Do you remember
the petri dish weeks
locked in a glass box
that no one else sees?
Do you remember
the shots that they gave,
the pavlov bell pills
to make you behave?
Do you remember
the secrets you keep
the way you don’t swim now
‘cause you’re scared of the deep?
Do you remember
grinning that day
before you took that shotgun
and blew it away?
I’m going to be honest: I’ve read this three times now and I still don’t know what’s going on 😦 I know you experiment in yr writing and I respect that which is why I’ve tried 😦

Well, the idea was asking—— do you remember, about a series of memories that one would prefer to forget. The final memory is about a former student of mine that committed suicide some years back. I’ll never forget his final Friday grin exiting class and then his empty chair.
